Seminar of 61st International White-cane Safety Day:
A marvelous seminar on the occasion of 61st International White-cane Safety Day was held today at Al-Mahfooz Markaz barai Nabeena Gulshan-e-Ismaiel Chishtian working under the administration of Pakistan association of the Blind District branch Bahawalnagar
Assistant Commissioner Chishtian, Mr. Sajid Iqbal was the Chief Guest
Other respectable guests were; DSP Chishtian, Mr. Yousaf Haroon and Madam Rahet Shabbir-Supervizer Social Welfare Chishtian.
In his address, President of the association, Mr. Ghulam Murtaza highlighted the prominent achievements of the association in different fields during the last 28 years.
He also requested the honourable guests to help the association for the completion of different projects.
General Secretary, Prof. Rizwan Younas presented the historical background of the usage of White-cane and international White-cane Safety Day.
He also presented a beautiful poem about the importance of White-cane in the lives of visually impaired persons.
The Eighth class student of the institution, Muhammad Qasim sang a gorgeous National song which was highly appreciated by the audience.
In his address, Assistant Commissioner Chishtian, Mr. Sajid Iqbal praised Mr. Ghulam Murtaza for his day and night efforts for the welfare of the visually impaired persons and promised to assist the association in the completion of various development projects.
In the end, the honourable guests destributed White-canes among 54 visually impaired persons.
