PAKISTAN ASSOCIATION OF THE BLIND

Mr. Ghulam Murtaza

Founder of PAB Bahawalnagar

“Mr. Ghulam Murtaza and a few of his committed friends had a vision that started the Pakistan Association of the Blind, District Bahawalnagar. Even though visually impaired people in our area confront many obstacles, Mr. Ghulam Murtaza and his team saw a time when education would help people become independent and self-sufficient. Realising the need for a group to assist the community of people with vision impairments.

With little funding but unwavering will, the Pakistan Association of the Blind (Bahawalnagar branch) officially launched on May 26, 1996. The association began as a tiny Chishtian centre that offered visually challenged children help and basic education. It has developed into a reputable organisation over the years, providing a range of services including computer instruction, mobility assistance, and Braille education, all with the goal of assisting blind people in reclaiming their proper place in society with dignity and respect.”

Our goal has always been equality of opportunities and experience for people with visual disabilities. People need to be sensitized to the potentials and problems. of the visually impaired. They are no different from others. Typically society tends to overestimate the disability and underestimate the potentials of people with disabilities
